Spelling Words

Please be sure to put your spelling words in your book.
White - Sort by long and short vowel sounds, one is an oddball - swim, gift, rich, five, nice, drive, clip, stick, while, spill, mice, knife, dice, nine, give, thin, kick, flip, hike, dish, prize. (while is a high frequency word)
Orange - irregular plurals; sort by f becomes v or vowel change; two don't change- wife, foot, sheep, mouse, tooth, leaf, life, knife, goose, woman, wolf, deer, feet, women, mice, wives, leaves, loaves, loaf, teeth, geese, knives, wolves, lives. (woman is a high frequency word)

Math and Spelling

Math worksheet 6 is due tomorrow.
Spelling test tomorrow.

SS Projects

Museum projects are due next Friday, Jan. 20th.
They must include:


  1. A display of West Coast First Nations' Culture

  2. A short write-up


  3. Skinny notes

Displays may be:



  • model



  • diorama



  • picture



  • comic



  • performance



  • other

The write-up will be 5-10 sentences made from the skinny notes about the display.


Skinny notes are notes taken from a book - facts about the topic. A large part of the lead up to this project was teaching students to gather information from books. Their notes are an essential part of this project.

Several students don't have scissors or rulers. Please ensure that they have them by next week.

Math and LA

MATH- Several students did not finish their Math homework last night or need to do corrections. Please check students Math duo tangs and agendas for work tonight. Unit 4 W/S 1

LA- Students should have finished looking at a sample autobiography (organization Week 1 Day3). They will start rough copies of their autobiographies tomorrow.

Welcome Back

Today students got new spelling words that they can sort at home.
We did a Math and a Language Arts assignment that were finished in class.
