Students are working on folktales. They were given The Crow and the Peacock which is due tomorrow, and today got The Ants and the Grasshopper which they will do for Thursday.

Spelling Words

Orange - y endings: many, turkey, movie, July, hungry, money, fifty, ready, angry, honey, cookie, rely, every, jockey, ugly, very, body, goalie, try, plenty, twenty, empty, hockey, chimney.

White- using 'e' to make a long /o/sound: rock, cone, nose, job, hope, those, clock, hot, hose, joke, home, pot, rope, come, hole, some, spot, chop, stove, woke, broke.

SS

Students have been handing in some excellent SS projects on the West Coast Nations. All projects are due on Monday at the beginning of school.

Spelling Words

Please be sure to put your spelling words in your book.
White - Sort by long and short vowel sounds, one is an oddball - swim, gift, rich, five, nice, drive, clip, stick, while, spill, mice, knife, dice, nine, give, thin, kick, flip, hike, dish, prize. (while is a high frequency word)
Orange - irregular plurals; sort by f becomes v or vowel change; two don't change- wife, foot, sheep, mouse, tooth, leaf, life, knife, goose, woman, wolf, deer, feet, women, mice, wives, leaves, loaves, loaf, teeth, geese, knives, wolves, lives. (woman is a high frequency word)
